Sheila Kelly

Sheila Kelly is the Chief Development Officer at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, where she leads the effort to expand philanthropic support for the organization’s global social impact programs.

With the philanthropic development team she oversees, Kelly is creating new ways to connect the Workshop’s programs and funding activities to advance the organization’s mission to help kids grow smarter, stronger and kinder with a greater focus on individual giving, as well as continued funding through foundation, government and corporate partnerships.

Kelly previously served as Senior Vice President, Development at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. She oversaw a development team that implemented fundraising strategies including major gifts, special events and community fundraising.   In her eight years with the foundation, Kelly and her team brought in revenues of approximately $90 million annually. Prior to her role at the Fox Foundation, Kelly worked at Time Inc. as Director of Event and Entertainment Marketing at Entertainment Weekly, where she managed high profile annual events, created revenue generating marketing programs for advertisers and built partnerships with renowned brands such as L’Oreal Paris, Hewlett Packard, LG and Revlon.  

Kelly graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English from Providence College. She resides in Crestwood, New York with her husband, Cornelius, and two daughters, Fallon and Aisling.
