Lewis Kofsky

Lewis Kofsky is the Vice President and General Manager of Latin America and Executive Producer, International.

He spearheads Sesame brand and mission work in LatAm while overseeing all aspects of LatAm operations including content creation, distribution, licensing, outreach, and social impact projects.

Prior to this, Kofsky was VP of International Creative and Global Interactive Strategy, where he led creative direction for Sesame Workshop’s international co-productions spanning 150 countries ranging from Afghanistan to Brazil to China.  He also reshaped the strategy and production of Sesame Workshop’s interactive experiences providing a large body of games, apps, and online experiences to preschoolers on a global scale.

Kofsky has an accomplished background in TV, film, and video game production.  He has provided strategic consulting for various educational media brands including managing the musician East Forest. He spent 13 years building Curious Pictures (with a brief hiatus to PDI/Dreamworks as an FX artist on Shrek 2 and Madagascar).   He architected multi-studio productions in a variety of media across continents and played EP or producer roles in award winning impact documentary films like Freakanomics, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden, and Chicago 10, educational children’s TV like Team Umizoomi, Little Einsteins, and Elmo’s World, and the innovative video games like RockBand, GTA, and Deepak Chopra’s Leela.

After spinning a self-designed major out of the budding product design program at Stanford University, Kofsky started his career working for an HIV prevention product design research project while moonlighting as a furniture designer.  He left this to work/travel for three years in Latin America where on his surface route from Guatemala to Chile and back to Venezuela, he most notably spent a year as a designer on a water pipeline in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru.  Kofsky is still partner in ciclo.org an agroforestry non-profit project in Brazil.
