John Jepsen is Sesame Workshop’s Senior Vice President of International Social Impact (ISI) Country Offices and Project Management. In this role, he oversees the Workshop’s operations in South Africa, India, and Bangladesh and directs the global project management team responsible for designing and delivering early childhood education community outreach programs around the world. He previously served as Vice President of International Development and Partnerships and acting Chief Development Officer for Sesame Workshop.

John has over twenty years of client management and project implementation experience in developing and emerging markets. Prior to joining Sesame Workshop, Jepsen served as a Principal Global Practice Lead at DAI, a leading international program implementation and strategy company focused on tackling fundamental social and economic development problems. At DAI, he was responsible for developing and implementing complex economic growth programs for USAID, DFID/FCDO, the EBRD, and the EC throughout Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. During his tenure with DAI, Jepsen led multi-year field-based programs in South Africa, Haiti, Zambia, and Mozambique and held senior positions within its London and Johannesburg offices.

Jepsen holds a BA in International Studies and French from American University’s School of International Service and an MBA from University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
