Miranda Barry
Miranda Barry is the Executive Vice President, Content for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street. Barry is responsible for managing content development for all international properties and new domestic productions, and serves as a creative advisor to domestic Sesame Street productions.
This is Barry’s third term with Sesame Workshop, where she previously served as Supervising Producer on Ghostwriter, Interim-Producer on the Sesame Street co-production in India, Galli Galli Sim Sim, and Producer for the newly-announced Northern Ireland co-production. Her work for Sesame Workshop and prior spans the landscape of the children’s media industry domestically and internationally, in commercial and public television, as well as new media.
Before joining Sesame Workshop, Barry was Senior Vice President, Creative Affairs at JP Kids, where she developed The Famous Jett Jackson for The Disney Channel and worked on series and specials with Yahoo, Fox Kids, Disney, and PBS. In addition, she served as Vice President, Licensee Support for Zing Systems where she worked with cable systems on encoding their programming for interactive television, and as Director of Program Development for PBS’s landmark drama series, American Playhouse.
Barry holds a Masters Degree in Education from Bank Street College of Education, and currently resides in New York City.
