Sesame Workshop and Apple Partnership
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street, will create the first original children’s programming for Apple, under a multi-program deal.
The slate of shows to be developed for the streaming platform includes a live-action and an animated program as well as an all-new puppet series.
With this announcement, plus a new animated series, “Esme and Roy,” expected to premiere on HBO in August, Sesame Workshop will have more shows in development than it has had since 2002.
Sesame Street, which airs on HBO and PBS, is not part of the Apple agreement.
