More Ways to Give:

NSF and Sesame Workshop

The National Science Foundation supports a Sesame Workshop project that introduces children to the night sky.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) provides major support for “One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure,” a planetarium show that introduces children to the night sky while underscoring cross-cultural connections.

As an independent federal agency seeking to promote scientific progress, an essential element of NSF’s mission is to support science and engineering education. NSF supports education at all levels -- from pre-kindergarten through graduate school and beyond.

NSF funds research that is fully integrated with education to help ensure that there will always be plenty of skilled people available to work in new and emerging scientific, engineering, and technological fields, and plenty of capable teachers to educate the next generation.

NSF believes that the continuous acquisition of new knowledge is the single most important factor in society’s intellectual and economic progress, and to the enhanced wellbeing of its citizens. The foundation is proud to be a major part of that quest, and to collaborate with Sesame Workshop on expanding children’s scientific knowledge.
