Elmo and New Danish Friend to Host SESAMGRADE, A New Sesame Block on TV 2 in Denmark

This October, everybody’s favorite furry red monster and his Danish friend named Signe will be part of SESAMGADE, a new Sesame Street block in Denmark. The 80 episodes, 30-minute block will be featured on TV 2’s children’s weekend block Bavian, targeting 4-6 year old preschoolers. Along with the original Danish material, the block will include series Play with Me Sesame and Elmo’s World.

Denmark’s very own Elmo and Signe, a young woman who has known Elmo since he was a baby, will sing songs, learn letters, tell stories and explore with the kids at home. Elmo’s World will allowchildren to explore their imagination by looking at the world through the eyes of a three-year-old. And children will be jumping out of their chairs during the interactive series Play with Me Sesame. Interstitials with fairy-in-training Abby Cadabby and her friend and mirror, Looky Lou, will be adding a magical touch to the second season of SESAMGADE. The original Danish material and packaging of the show is being produced by Copenhagen-based production company Metronome Productions A/S. Denmark’s Elmo puppeteer was trained by Kevin Clash, Sesame Street Muppet Captain and the force behind Elmo.
