Sesame Workshop is organized into seven core areas, with all areas working together to realize the company’s mission. The Education, Research, and Outreach Group provides the educational agenda for the Workshop by overseeing all research and outreach initiatives, both domestic and international. The Production and Creative Development Group oversees the creation and production of original Sesame Street and non-Sesame Street shows/projects. The Global Marketing and Licensing Group maintains the brand image, manages toy licensees, and creates the product and character design of all our artwork. The Content Distribution Group oversees the overall distribution of our content through our multimedia platforms: website, interactive media, themed entertainment partnerships and business ventures that promote our brand, domestic and international distribution of our shows, and our publications. The International Projects Group supports our overall international strategic planning by fostering international relationships with other countries to create international co-productions. The Development Group oversees the Workshop’s fundraising efforts through private funding, corporate social responsibility, public policy, and e-philanthropy. Description of PositionSesame Workshop’s Digital Media Group is currently seeking a freelance Production Coordinator to handle all project budgets, assist with production planning, and manage production trafficking issues. This individual will work with the Digital Group production director and producers, as well as with other departmental production managers, to plan and track budget financials. The Production Manager will also assist producers on an as-needed basis to resolve production trafficking issues and bottlenecks, and coordinate the production team across multiple projects.Position Responsibilities• Report to Production Director of Digital Media on all planning, workflow and financial concerns• Serve as daily point person for all Digital Media financials -- creating and tracking budgets, contracts, invoices and weekly freelancer payroll• Work closely with producers to ensure that all project budgets are up-to-date and on-target• Work closely with accounting and finance to ensure that all invoices are paid on time• Work closely with legal on contracts, talent payments, rights and clearances• Write budget reports for distribution to producers, accounting and senior management• Evaluate and improve budgeting and trafficking processes on an ongoing basis• Identify and implement improvements to workflow and production pathways• Meet weekly with producers to assist with project plans, track project status, and resource allocationExperience RequiredThe ideal candidate should have 2+ years of web content production and publishing experience (with significant exposure to relevant project planning and budgeting applications). Excellence at teamwork and strong communication skills (verbal and written) are required. A familiarity with web and broadband delivery platforms (e.g.HTML, Flash), general facility with media production hardware and software, and experience in finance are a plus. Salary is competitive.
