  • I am unable to install an old CD-ROM on my new computer. How do I resolve this?

While we cannot guarantee that an old CD-ROM will work on your new computer, using the Program Compatibility Wizard to complete the installation may help if you are using Windows 2000 or XP (Note: Our games do not run in Windows NT).

    Here’s how:

    1) Click on the Start menu
    2) Go to All Programs
    3) Go to Accessories
    4) Select the Program Compatibility Wizard
    5) Tell wizard to look in CD drive
    6) Tell wizard to run in Windows 98/ME mode (Windows 95 games should run in this mode)
    7) Click Next
    8) Check box labeled “Run in 640 x 480”
    9) Click Next, wait for launcher to open
    10) Install program
    11) Save settings

Note: The compatibility wizard will create a shortcut on your desktop. You must always launch the CD using this shortcut, or the computer will bypass the compatibility mode. Please also note that the process is drive-specific and you must insert the game disc into the drive in which you ran the compatibility program. You must run every game through this installation process.

If you are unable to locate the compatibility wizard using the steps above, go to the desktop and press the F1 key to bring up the help dialog box. Search for the compatibility wizard.
