Business Analyst – China Region
Full Time Professional Position Located in New York City
Duties:
Conduct regional analysis of business conditions and operating environments for the China region to determine optimal product development strategy for providing content for pre-school education. Design processes and procedures for executing content production, distribution, licensing, product development, and education research in the China market. Employ expertise researching Chinese regional business conditions and fluency in regional languages to advise Management on how to establish strategic relationships with local partners located in the media, education and private and public sectors; identify emerging business opportunities; assess prospective partners; and facilitate negotiations and deal making. Provide English language analysis and executive summaries of Chinese language business data and reports to company managers. Position located in New York City with required travel 25% of the year within the China region.
Requires:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and 2 years’ experience in the occupation, or similar management analyst or business analyst position
Special Language Requirement:
Fluency (written & spoken) in the primary regional languages of Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese.

Senior Director, Marketing & Communications
Marketing & Communications
General Purpose and Scope of Position:
Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit education organization behind Sesame Street in the United States and around the world (learn more at Sesameworkshop.org). Reporting to the VP Brand Strategy, the Senior Director serves as the lead strategist for Sesame Workshop’s Corporate Communications, proactively targeting key constituents with the company’s unique and compelling story in order to garner support i.e. advocacy, partnerships, funding. In addition, the Senior Director oversees the implementation of these efforts.
Responsibilities:
Strategic direction Corporate Communications efforts
- Develop and execute a cost-effective marketing and communications strategy for Sesame Workshop’s nonprofit mission messaging
- Leverage market research, website analytics and other data to determine strategic directions
Editorial responsibility Sesameworkshop.org
- Shape and supervise editorial strategy for SesameWorkshop.org, our primary mission messaging platform
- Serve needs of internal clients while maintaining the strategic and creative integrity of the site.
- Direct and potentially supplement efforts of professional writer
- Direct in-house web producer
Editorial responsibility other Corporate Communications efforts
- Oversee copy and design for other Corporate Communications materials, such as brochures and video reels
- Give direction to photo shoots that bring our mission story to life.
Project & account management
- Oversee budgeting for all mission messaging initiatives
- Oversee a team of freelancers, independent contractors, vendors, and internal resources, ranging from creative designers to technical resources.

Director, Media Research
CAE&D – Marketing & Brand Strategy
General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Director Media Research is a key member of Marketing and Brand Strategy department. The Director Media Research will oversee all activities related to domestic television ratings and digital/online audience measurement - managing contracts and services, creating all ratings reports, managing primary research, special presentations, client relations and ad hoc requests.
Position Profile:
- Oversees all day-to-day domestic ratings and research activities to support brand, products, distribution, marketing and sponsorship.
- Manage all aspects of qualitative and quantitative consumer research studies.
- Identify and determine the scope of marketing research needs, including primary and secondary/syndicated research and research design/implementation.
- Identify and manage appropriate vendors.
- Fully aware of industry news and trends and can strategically determine how Sesame Workshop and Sesame Workshop client activities fit into the big picture.
- Provide thought leadership on integration of media research to support cross-media platforms.
- Primary editor of all Ratings and Trends reports, presentations, sales pieces, special projects.
Technical Competencies:
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative marketing research required.
- Thorough understanding of national and local Nielsen methodology and software.
- Experience with website measurement methodologies (e.g. Nielsen NetRatings, Comscore).
- Exceptional math skills, strong writing skills.
- Ability to distill complex issues down to simple terms and explanations.

- Proficiency in Nielsen NPower, third party processing software for ratings as well as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

- Experience with primary market research (quantitative and qualitative methodologies).
Apparel Licensing Coordinator
Global Marketing
General Responsibilities:
- Receive product approvals and traffic forms to creative resources. Return all materials to licensees.
- Schedule product development meetings with creative resources and licensees. Work with manager/ director to schedule bi-annual line reviews with all licensees.
- Gather quarterly forecasts from licensees and distribute to finance department.
- Act as point person between category heads and legal department on contract execution.
- Attend product development meetings and record comments from creative staff.
- Maintain sample closet/stockroom and inventory for all licensees, including archiving of samples. Interface with licensee on current sample requirement.
- Process internal and external product orders, manage invoicing and act as liaison with finance dept for all company orders.
- Coordinate all materials for trade shows, advertising, events and line reviews.
- Work with PR group on event planning.
- Attend tradeshows.
- Send licensees creative materials and refresh as new materials are available.
- Define new business opportunities – prospect potential partners and make initial contact.
- Assist in development of pitches/presentations and attend initial meetings with potential new partners.

Sesame Workshop is continuously seeking candidates for our temporary administrative assistant program to work on contract in all departments.
Our positions require that candidates have administrative experience supporting executives. In addition, the candidate should be extremely organized, detailed oriented, proactive, efficient and have the ability to juggle various job duties and every day work pressures.
General Functions:
Perform various administrative functions of a routine nature as well as:
- Data Entry
- Screening incoming telephone calls
- Scheduling appointments
- Drafting and completing memorandums and letters

ONGOING: Internship Program
All Departments
Internship opportunities at Sesame Workshop provide full-time matriculated college students with hands-on learning directly related to their current academic studies.
Students will engage in everyday business tasks under the guidance of an assigned supervisor. The internship program will allow Sesame Workshop to support students in their career path, as well as help us to build strong relationships with neighboring colleges and universities. Students must show proof of enrollment to be considered, and they may receive school credit for their internships at Sesame Workshop. Students should also be able to commit to a minimum of 3 work days, unless otherwise noted. Interns will not be paid hourly wages or a salary, but are provided a travel/lunch stipend.
